(Successfully completed 261 hooks.  The rain all week caused the grounds crew to cover and uncover the track before the pull.  Ultimately, the track was the best it has been for a long time and it seemed to suck the horsepower from every tractor.)

10.   Sat. June 28, 2014     11:00 am      Pickett - Independence Pull (Clay) (Farm Tractors) (Daytime Pull)   (New Time)

Gomer Buehring, 920-379-5057, 920-426-5811, Pickett Steam & Gas Engine Grounds, W9975 Olden Rd, Pickett, WI  54904

Pickett Gas & Steam Engine Club Website

(Successfully completed 67 hooks.  Low turnout of tractors and trucks due to Internet advertising problems allowed everyone to hook twice and take the longest hook as the official hook.  After the official competition,  some tractors and trucks made a few practice runs and some team hooks to try out some things they normally wouldn't try during a pull - such as a higher gear. )

11.   Sat. June 28, 2014      7:00 pm      Pickett - Independence Pull (Clay) (Farm Tractors) (Evening Pull)

(Successfully completed 107 hooks on a spongy track.  The fill added to extend the start line backwards was unsettled, so we shortened up the track.  Good selection of tractors and trucks.)

13.  Sat.  July 5, 2014       5:00 pm          Sugar Bush (Clay)

At the end of the FWD class, only one tractor had a full pull.  This was the first pull that we hooked up (and stopped) a big rubber track agricultural tractor.  Track conditions were really spongy.  This was the softest track on which we ever pulled. )

14.   Thu.  July 10, 2014      7:00 pm        Westfield (Marquette County Fair)  (Dirt Track) (Trucks Only)

Amanda Knoch, 608-369-1091, Marquette County Fairgrounds, 757 South Main Street, Westfield, WI

(New Pull: Thursday of Marquette County Fair Week)

(Successfully completed 38 hooks.  This first time pull didn't have a lot of entries.  Notable event:  A Street Altered Diesel truck created a big bounce that ultimately wrecked a driveshaft on our eliminator.  Instead of taking the time to replace the driveshaft with my spare, we quickly repaired the secondary problems from the swinging driveshaft and used a payloader as a pull-back tractor to complete the last ten hooks.  Everyone got a fair hook.  Had a new, stronger driveshaft custom made the next day in time for the next day's pull.)
